Role: Brand Communications Director | Commercial Project
Using research gathered from competitors and the LED lighting landscape, I crafted a redesign of the WCI brand to emphasize the current and new services as well as product innovations achieved during its 30+ years in business as a titan in the LED industry. As a premium electronic product with over 2000 custom board designs, I needed to position WCI as a knowledgable thought-leader in electronics and lighting, as well as to introduce their new ground-breaking service as a UL-certified testing lab. I chose to go for a minimal direction with a black backdrop to highlight the illumination of the LED module boards, and “zag” from the rest of the competitors dull, plain, non-design oriented websites. I hired a product photographer and CAD animator to achieve the new look and feel of the rebranding. Additionally, I designed the wireframe and website, adding a past projects page, and creating a better organization of the vast number of products, categorizing by shape and adding a clear filtering system to look up products. Lastly, I am creating a product catalogue with newly designed datasheets, business cards, and additional marketing materials for the industry expos and events.
